I believe that all of us, to some degree, are fighting for something. In this regard, all of life is a war, a war beyond swords and missiles. My martial arts is a way of life in a way that transcends punches and blocks. If life is a war between good and evil, then the pinnacle state of a martial artist is to be a warrior. A martial artist/warrior must be a student, which I am. I study humanity and morality. I study pain. I study life. I study love, truth and justice. I study sin and redemption. I study people and God. A warrior must be willing to learn and accept superior knowledge in place of what he thinks he knows. A warrior must be teachable. A warrior must constantly be growing and learning. None of us have perfect knowledge, so we are all slightly askew in our travel, but if we keep learning, we can become less misguided. A warrior must abstain from becoming stagnant -- he must grow and learn.
A warrior must also be a teacher. Which is better -- one warrior fighting by himself, or two together? You need not be perfect to teach.
The model warrior that I follow is Jesus Christ. He demonstrated in human form the perfect life of a warrior.
