THE MILE RUN

This tests the student heart and lung endurance.

Run on a level measured surface.
Walking may be intersperesed with running.

Students should be given ample instruction
on how to pace themselves.
Sufficient time should be allowed
for warming up and cooling down.

6 & 7-year-olds run a quarter mile.
8 & 9-year-olds run a half mile.

SPECIFICALLY FOR RED SUN STUDENTS



Students must run a mile
to complete their Presidential Fitness Exam.
This is optional; not all students will opt to do this.

You can either run your mile on your own
and give Sensei your time
(children need a note from parents),
or meet with Sensei on a scheduled date.

If you would like to run your mile
after class near the dojo on a Saturday,
meet at the dojo after class on Saturday (noon).
From the dojo, we will drive to a running track
close to the dojo at West Millbrook Middle School
(Strickland & Falls of Neuse)

on a day other than Saturday,
please schedule a time and date Sensei.
