THE MILE RUN
This tests the student heart and lung endurance.
Run on a level measured surface.
Walking may be intersperesed with running.Students should be given ample instruction
on how to pace themselves.
Sufficient time should be allowed
for warming up and cooling down.6 & 7-year-olds run a quarter mile.
8 & 9-year-olds run a half mile.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE MILE RUN
SPECIFICALLY FOR RED SUN STUDENTS
Students must run a mile
to complete their Presidential Fitness Exam.
This is optional; not all students will opt to do this.You can either run your mile on your own
and give Sensei your time
(children need a note from parents),
or meet with Sensei on a scheduled date.If you would like to run your mile
after class near the dojo on a Saturday,
meet at the dojo after class on Saturday (noon).
From the dojo, we will drive to a running track
close to the dojo at West Millbrook Middle School
(Strickland & Falls of Neuse)
