MEET IN THE STREET is Wake Forest's largest annual street festival which celebrates spring with arts and crafts, music, various performing arts, and tons of fun food. White Street is closed off to cars and filled with people strolling to different booths of art or stages of various performers. The event is always the first Saturday in May. Last year, over 10,000 people attended. This event is sponsored by Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce.

In the past nine years, Red Sun Academy has participated in MEET IN THE STREET. We do not perform our demonstration to show off, but to show the community what martial arts is all about. Therefore, maintaining proper discipline is of the utmost importance.

We usually begin our demonstration by a short performance from our tots which everyone enjoys. We then proceed by performing striking drills as a class. We continue with katas, self-defense, choreographed fight scenes, weapons, and a Tai Chi demonstration, Our Demonstration Team and the Cardio-Karate group has put on their own separate performance in past years. We often finish with students performing numerous board breaks with their hands and feet, often in the air. Our top black belts break multiple cinder blocks..

Always, we have fun. We see that the audience does too.
