THE WHITE BELT TEST
From White to Yellow Belt

The White Belt Test is divided into 4 divisions:

1. KNOWLEDGE
........Refer to the this link. You will need to know it in your own words.
........(white belts will not be tested on Japanese or Korean terminology)
........(yellow belts & above will)

2. BASICS
........(4 stances, 4 blocks & 3 kicks)

3. KATA
........(a memorized set of karate moves)
........Know traditional & New Age white belt kata

4. SELF-DEFENSE
........(3 learned defense moves against a striking opponent)

When the student is invited to test by the Sensei,
the testing student needs to have a self-defense partner at their test.
This partner should be roughly the same size as the testing student
(or slightly larger) and of the same rank or higher.

Arrive to the test ON TIME and in a clean all-white uniform.
Your Red Sun patch must be on your uniform.
Testing fees are $25 and must be collected BEFORE the test begins.
Testing fees includes the student's new belt and certificate (should he pass)
and a detailed testing evaluation report (if he passes or not).
In the event that the student does not pass,
he will test again, usually within several days or weeks. The retest is free.

It should be quiet before the test begins.
