LIST OF BEERS
NUT BROWN ALE, Carolina Brewing Company
A medium bodied dark brown ale with a complex chocolatey, toasted malt taste. The word nut in the name implies a dry nut-like taste that makes it distinct from some of the sweeter brown ales. There are 5 different types of malted barley to give the beer its color and variety of malt flavors. A sweet smell of yeasty butterscotch gives way to a creamy nutty brown ale. Each sip gets better.GAELIC ALE, Highland Brewing Company
This ale has a slight caramel aroma, a dark, rich amber with a creamy beige head. Caramel malt dominates, though there's some brown sugar and hop hints. Some toasted taste with brown sugar/molasses hint. Nice bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium to full body, very smooth. This is a surprisingly dry beer with no residual sweetness. Easy drinking.ASAHI DRAFT BEER, Asahi Breweries Group
This is a very dry beer which is modestly balanced with a bit of a bite. This is a beer for all seasons. Asahi Beer is brewed from selected ingredients using pure cultured yeast. This beer smells of sweet rice (much like sake) and some pale malts with a tiny bit of hops. It's a very light beer, crisp, sweet, with the right amount of carbonation.HELL'S BELLE BELGIAN ALE, Big Bass Brewing Company
Crisp hazy golden orange colored body with a dense tan head perfect in appearance. Aroma of yeast, lemons, sweet fruitiness, spices, and a lot of wheat. Medium-bodied. Strong assertive spices with cloves, anise, and yeast. Potent and complex aftertaste. Not much sweetness. Flavors are clean and palate is slick and oily. Carbonation is pretty high.SMITHWICK'S IRISH ALE, Guiness Brewery
An aroma of sweet malts and almost caramel-like smell. Average to above average body with an earthy malted and mild taste. Not bitter at all. There is a distinct hint of hops. Has a thin sweet finish. Smooth and creamy. Easy to drink.LONGBOARD ISLAND LAGER, Kona Brewing Company
A smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for five weeks at cold temperatures to yield its smooth flavor. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body. Has a sweet, nutty, and light flavor. Dryish medium body drink. Nice integration of toast, raison, citrus, and earth flavors. A nice summer chill out beer.PRIMA PILS Pilsner, Victory Brewing Company
Looks like a champagne. Slight fruity, citrusy, bubblegum-like scent up front. Plenty of earthy, spicy hops with just enough malt. Some citrus notes. Has a dry tea-like grainy finish with a bitterness that sticks to you. Medium-bodied and quite smooth. Finishes dry. High carbonation.SIERRA NEVADA PALE ALE, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company
Leafy aroma with herbs and a touch of spice. Dry on the palate with a spicy aftertaste, almost like grapefruit. Bitter mango finish. Very crisp and clean refreshing.SIERRA NEVADA Porter, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company
Dark and rich, Sierra Nevada Porter is a delicious, medium-bodied ale with a creamy head. The Porter's smooth flavor (malty with hints of caramel) comes from a bled of deep-roasted barely malts. Citric hops are prominent in the nose, along with some notes of toffee. Good balance of dark, roasted elements in the taste.SIERRA NEVADA Torpedo, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company
Seriously hoppy and bitter. There is pepper, a touch of pine, and bitter citrus. The beer starts off with some malty sweetness, but the sweetness is quickly buried in an avalanche of hoppy, dry bitterness. Clearly not for the faint of heart. Almost full bodied.DIXIE HARDENED VOODOO, Dixie Brewing Company
Red, fruit, molasses and malt in the aroma, almost candy-like. Caramel malt, raspberry and veggies in the taste, turning sour and syrupy, almost meltalic. Only a hint of hops. A sweet drinking beer which may limit the enjoyment of people who don't like a big fruity taste.GUINNESS DRAUGHT
The aroma is a bit of hops with a roasted smell, almost yeasty (sourdough and rye bread). The taste starts off hoppy with a bit of a coffee taste, finished off with a bitter, earthy taste. This beer is medium-heavy bodied with light carbonation and is very smooth.DOGFISH CHICORY STOUT, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
This beer had a coffee-cinnamon and woody smell, perhaps bitter chocolate, with an earthy roasted malt taste. There is no taste of hops at all, and has a faint coffee and smoke aftertaste. Thin body and low carbonation. The finish is mildly dry .DUCK-RABBIT MILK STOUT, The Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery
Sweet milky smell of roasted malts, dark chocolate, and coffee with liquoish notes. Also hints of toasted bread crust, maple candy, and a slight metallic smell. Flavor is sweet, like chocolate milk with coffee. Some burnt notes add a bit of bitterness. Finish is long and roasty.DUCK-RABBIT AMBER ALE, The Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery, North Carolina
The aroma opens with an unexpected funky sweet yeast, followed by the expected caramel malt, and a hard-to-place spicy smell. You can also detect apple and white wine. The flavor is acidic with some bitterness, tasting bready and spicy. This beer has a bitter aftertaste. Bone dry with a medium body, soft carbonation. Some say it's thin and watery.CHOCOLATE STOUT, Fort Collins Brewery
Sweet, nutty, and malty smell, with a smoky taste. Tastes like roasted coffee, bitter chocolate, and cola. The initial sweet milk chocolate soon gives way to a smokiness with hints of coffee, raison, molasses, and rich dark malt. Finishes with a sharp but clean burnt espresso flavor with a lingering piney hop bitter taste. Very thick and cream filled but strangely with a thin feeling in the mouth.CAROLINA STRAWBERRY ALE, Carolina Beer Company
Pleasant strawberry aroma. The taste was just the right mix of beer and strawberry taste, with a clean crisp berry flavor. Very mildly hopped with gentle malts to even out the flavor. Light, easy drinking beer. From many reviews, this scored higher than most expected from a fruit beer. Most fruit infused beers taste too artificial and are overdone, but this one is nice. Perhaps pure drinkers might be ashamed to have this fruit beer in their hand, but forget your pride and give this brew a shot.BAR HARBOR BLUEBERRY ALE, Atlantic Brewing Company
Vibrant, fresh blueberry small over the yeasty, hoppy aroma, almost like a blueberry muffin. At first sip, you may think where did the blueberries go?, but be patient... it comes. The taste hints of blueberries but also with brown rice and a general wheat grainy character. There is a decent hop presence which balances out some of the blueberry sweetness. Semi-bitter finish.PURPLE HAZE Raspberry Wheat Beer, Abita Brewing Company
Smells of tangy raspberry preserves and lemon peel, with a bit of toffee hidden underneath. Very light and spritzy on the tongue. Slight sweet caramel flavors are quickly overtaken by the tangy raspberry flavor with wheat mixed in. No bitterness to speak of.PENN WEIZEN BAVARIAN WHEAT BEER, Pennsylvania Brewing Company
A sweet wheat aroma gives way to a clove spice twang with hints of lemon, banana and pear. The first sip bites hard with crisp bitterness. Lemon quickly emerges, then transitions to the hearty bread flavor.... throughout is clove. Big spicy clove bite with a malty texture. Mildly sweet, and rather smooth.
