SUMMER BREAK
Red Sun Academy always goes on summer break
the first two weeks in July .

Sensei needs a vacation too! When Red Sun first opened,
Sensei did not take vacation and worked straight throughout the year.
After 3 years of doing that, she decided to finally take a vacation,
but kept the dojo open having black belts teach.
With the constant calls during vacation, that WAS no vacation.
So "we be closed" the first two weeks in July.

We have many ‘extras’ to make up for this…
extremely low fees, free workshops, tournaments, picnics, parties,
training in the water, free one-on-one instruction, free classes for parents, etc.
So go swimmin’, fishin’, travelin’…
and remember to train in karate during our break!

PHILOSOPHIES OF THE MARTIAL ARTS WORKSHOP
Mr. Paul Corrigan will lead a discussion
on the philosophies of the martial arts.
He will talk about eastern philosophies
such as Taoism and the yin-yang idea,
violence in the martial arts, and the human body
and how it relates in the martial arts
(whole body vs. separate hand idea,
how painters use paint, while martial artists use their body
for this art), and more. Casual workshop. No gi necessary.

CLASS IN THE POOL
Enjoy our annual CLASS IN THE POOL at Sensei's neighborhood pool at 7pm.
We will do kata, karate drills, and karate games in the water. It's a lot of fun!
Moms and Dads – bring your suit and feel free to swim in the other area during our class!
If it rains heavily or thunders at all, we will reschedule to the next Monday (same time).
Must be 9-years-old (or orange belt or higher) to attend.

STUDENT NIGHT OUT:
Every Wednesday night, all students are invited to go out after class
to grab a bite, be it a burger, pizza, ice cream, or simply a soda or a chat.
Mimi's, Borders, Snoopys, Goodberries, Shane's Rib Shack, Champps,
Litchford Plaza, and Belle Italia are a few of our hangouts.
Summer treat!

WORKSHOPS:
Attend workshops to gain further knowledge
in the martial arts. Always be eager to train.

AFTERNOON AT THE LAKE
Meet at Sensei's house at 2pm.
From there, we'll car pool to Falls Lake,
which is literally 2 miles from Sensei's house!
Be prepared to swim in the lake, so don't forget your swim suit.
Also bring a chair or towel. Snacks are optional.
Free event!
